There wasn't enough to go sled riding, but just enough to make this holly bush show its true colors.

Why the name? I grew up in a small town but I learned a lot there. I learned who I was. I learned to work hard. I learned to love Jesus and to always appreciate the little things. I learned to appreciate the outdoors and a good book. I also will always love the sound of rain on a tin roof and the smell of blooming mountain laurel. I will be forever grateful that I was born and raised in the boondocks.

The cousins are especially excited to have another one in the bunch. Hey Dad, it is time for a bigger dining room table!

So, 2008 is off to a much better start than last year. Those of you that know me, know that last year at this time, I was undergoing radiation therapy for a benign tumor in my skull.
When I think of how sick I was at that time, I praise God for his mercy in bringing me through that time in my life. I am doing well. Back to work and back in the midst of my crazy life. I travel to Philadelphia next month for my one year check up. I am hoping for a clean bill of health and a "We'll see you in a year."
I celebrated my 38th birthday this past Tuesday and it was a great day. I went to lunch with a good friend and then spent the evening with my wonderful family. Thanks Steph and my crew for a great day.
