This past weekend, my daughter Tristin attended a youth retreat. I was asked to chaperone so I got to attend as well. The retreat was held at the Sylvan Hills Christian Service camp.
It has been a lot of years since I have been to summer camp, but it has not changed much. Giggly girls, and macho guys. The food is better than I remember though. And the music, was awesome.

They brought in a local Christian rock group for the Friday night entertainment.
The youth leader, is a huge music fan, so the band asked her to come up and sing along.

She enjoyed the evening as well!!
On Saturday, the special guest for the girls, was a Mary Kay consultant. She taught the girls some basics of skin care and how to properly apply make-up. I had the opportunity to participate as well. Here is the finished product!!

The host leader of the weekend also had a great devotional on Saturday. They discussed the Pledge of Allegiance and what it means to us. It was a different outlook and gave me a whole new appreciation of the Pledge and what it means to me. Thanks Scott!!

Tristin and I went home with a little different outlook on things and hopefully our relationship is a little stronger.
